Description

A short project made out of desperation given a severe lack of clear nights in a cloudy August. I also had to trash half the data since humidity approached levels which my heaters could not compete with, leading to a dew spot on the outside of the camera. Even with only about half the data left, I think this image shows the strengths of both the ASI1600MM-P and PixInsight's processing tools since the result was acceptable. For someone like me who is nearly addicted to 300-600" exposures, I may have to stick with these shorter exposures for a while since it makes the stars so much easier to manage.

PixInsight processing:

- Darks calibration (Flats due to dew spot were useless)

- Cosmic Correction

- Star Align (everything registered to Ha)

- Image Integration

Color:

- Linear Fit to Ha

- SHO Combination in PixelMath

- Double SCNR to extract Green

- TGV NR

- ArcSinH Stretch

Luminance:

- SHO-AIP Script to combine 50% of Sii and Oiii into Ha

- TGV NR

- DarkStructureEnhance 40%

- Masked Stretch

- ACDNR

- LRGB Combination

- A few Curves tweaks for color and contrast
