Description

NGC 3256 is a peculiar galaxy that was formed from the merger of two galaxies, this has not been imaged often as it is quite small in the field of view.
NGC 3256 has double nuclei: the northern and southern nucleus, and features two tidal tails.
This is totally fascinating to me!
The deconvolution to bring out the subtle details in the Lum is done by an app called CaRon developed by a professor in University of Delaware.

Does it look like a toucan to anyone else?

Imaged in LRGB on the PlaneWave CDK 1000 (luminance( and PlaneWave CDK 700 (RGB) at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
