Description

Farewell Orion for the Spring of 2020

I finally got a clear sky night and just had to get outside for a quick image. Alas, Orion and the Pleiades are leaving our sky for a while. Another astrophotographer just a day ago said that perhaps M42 is the most imaged DSO and I tend to agree. It is sad that I only had two nights this year to try a capture this DSO.

I used the Canon T3i and the 16 mm Rokinon lens to capture this wide angle image. It not only includes the constellation Orion but the Pleiades and Venus. The setting on the fixed tripod was ISO 800, f/2.8, and an 8 second exposure.
