Description

This is a test image I captured on a brief clear moment in a week of cloudy skies. My brother-in-law and his family were here for New Years and I wanted to show my 23 old niece how EAA works. When I saw some stars on my all sky camera I ran up to the observatory, opened the roof and pointed the scope to Orion. I switched Sharpcap (wonderful program!) into live view mode and voila - there was M43 and a portion of M42 on the screen. No focusing, no flats and no darks - just 25 10s luminance only  images that Sharpcap automatically saved that I later stacked in Astro Pixel Processor. Now that I know how to post, more to come with real LRGB, Ha data on more challenging objects. Initially skeptical about replacing the eyepiece with an imaging train, my wife now gives it thumbs up for the greatly enhanced views you can get with just few seconds of exposure.
