Description

IC 5332 is a spiral galaxy in the Sculptor constellation, around 30 million light years from earth.

While the galaxy is quite faint (roughly 816 times fainter than the well known Andromeda galaxy, just to give you an idea); it is quite interesting due to the fact that it’s facing us almost perfectly head on. This provides a nice view directly overhead into the spiral arms of said galaxy, in which areas of higher star density and star formation can easily be made out.
