Description

This image is "star-freeze" processed, which involves aligning the sub-images on the moving comet and using stacking parameters to eliminate the stars so as to produce a comet-only image. Then, the comet is subtracted from the sub-images and they are realigned on the stars and stacked to produce a stars-only image. These two images are then composited in PS to produce the final image showing the comet and stars "frozen" at one moment in time, even though the comet moved a considerable distance during the exposure.
