Description

I took out my C8, Powermate, and newly acquired ZWO ASI585MC camera on my RST-135. Seeing was pretty poor, but better than one night before. This is the best I could do imaging Mars. I wanted to use the camera before the planets start to dim. Weather has turned for the worst, so I am happy I managed to get this view of Mars. There's the ring effect. But I think you can see a lot of features, and the white on the north may be clouds in that area? The 585MC will be replacing my 462MC. The pixel size is about the same, and I can get similar FOV by changing the ROI when imaging. I wonder if I loose resolution by making the ROI small. Would need to image with both to compare, but that may not happen anytime soon. Thoughts?
