Description

Bullialdus is a 60Km wide crater in the Mare Nubium (Sea of Clouds). the walls of Bullialdus ride over 2400 metres above the crater floor, which itself is about 1200 metres below the Mare surface.

To the left is the Mare Humorum (the Sea of Moisture) with the concentric rings of the Rimae Hippalus. These huge cracks and rilles were formed when the weight of magma that filled the Mare caused the surrounding terrain to sink and fracture.
