Description

Messier 16 is a nebula and can be found in the constellation Serpens. Its name is Eagle Nebula but one part of it became famous after an image taken with the HST was published - the central part, which is called "Pillars of Creation". Sometimes this nebula is also called Star Queen Nebula.
The raw data come from a CDK24 with a QHY600M, equipped with Ha,OIII and SII filters, located in Chile - at this time of the year, it is not possible to grab it from my location in Austria. M16 is not far away, only about 5700LJ and it is part of the MilkyWay.
