Description

This is a new version processed mostly in PixInsight. GC2683 is a spiral galaxy, possible a barred spiral, located in the direction of the Constellation Lynx at an approximate distance of 35 Million Light-Years. It is viewed an an oblique angle, nearly edge-on. It's reddened light and yellowish hues stem from it's tightly wound spiral arms seemingly choked with gas and dust lanes. It's bright golden core illuminates the central portions of the galaxy, and numerous blue star clusters appear throughout the galaxy arms. The halo of NG2683 has many globular clusters, twice the number found in the Milky Way halo, although the galaxy is smaller and less luminous than our galaxy.
