Description

Leo I is a dwarf galaxy lying about 820 000 Ly away from us and is a distant satellite galaxy to the Milky Way. At mag. 11 it is faint and difficult to get due to the light from Regulus, the brightest star i constallation Leo (mag. 1,4), lying only 12 am to the east.

UI gave the object a try with the great SkyWatcher ED100 f5,5 APO refractor and although a rather short exporsure time, it came out fine. I love to FOV with the bright star and the faint galaxy together.

Enjoy....
