Description

My goal in this project was to see what happens with extended integration time on my equipment. I've been shooting at f/10 so I'd like to check what the longer times can bring. I wasn't prepared to have to deal with the thermal problems in this camera so early in the season. The sensor temp was pushing 30C for most of this. Honestly the thermal signal kills the faint details, and worse it seems to destroy the color. Is it bad that I want to upgrade my camera before my AVX?

Rev A - Original goal for the image was 10+ hours. After 4 nights of passing clouds, bad seeing, bad transparency, and bad guiding, I just had to see where this was. This version includes 110x5m (just over 9 hours). Processed as synthetic luminosity. I'm still aiming for more time, so I'll update this when it comes. It may take a while. I do like that I am starting to pick up the shell of NGC 5982. I'd venture to guess more subs would help smooth it.

Rev B - Added color data back in. I did not get any additional integration time. This is going back and reprocessing what I had. The quality of the color information is pretty poor. Resampled to 1600px wide to hide some of the madness.

Rev C - Retry on processing the full color image. I processed almost entirely in PI this time, including calibration and stacking. ...and I think this is close to all I'm going to be able to pull out of the T1i data.

Rev D - Pulled the background level up a bit.
