Description

"Come Into My Parlor..." - The Spider nebula (IC417) at lower right appears to stalk its prey, the smaller Fly nebula (NGC1931) at center left.   Both nebulae are powered by young, open star clusters embedded in glowing hydrogen gas.  The Fly also features a contrasting blue component, caused by starlight reflecting off of interstellar dust. This celestial drama plays out 10,000 light-years away in the constellation of Auriga, the Charioteer.

Equipment and processing used: Celestron RASA-11 telescope with ZWO ASI294 MC Pro one shot color camera riding on an iOptron CEM120-EC2 mount.  N.I.N.A./PHD2 used for image acquisition.  84 individual five minute exposures (seven hours of data), captured on the nights of October 23 and November 19, 2022.   Processed using PixInsight.  My first time using SPCC and Blur XTerminator
