Description

Best viewed in full resolution

VDB130  in the Sadr region (part of Cygnus), not commonly imaged, located between the Crescent and Butterfly Nebula.
The reflection nebula is associated with young stars in the surrounding cluster.
The intricate filaments in the center of  the frame were the highlights I thought.

I did find the processing this one quite challenging and spent a good part of a day trying to get to this iteration.

The integration times here were longer than I usually needed but luckily the clear summer nights afforded the extra time.

Seeing was exceptionally good with some subs down to 1.8". This allowed  resampling to be kept low at 75% to achieve the high resolution since the SNR was relatively high thanks to the fast f/4.75 configuration and the low read noise of the QHY600 at gain56 in high gain mode.

The uncompressed file was 717MB with over 60Mpixs, it had to be downsampled and compressed to be uploaded.

The 3nm filters helped isolate the nebulosity quite well despite the bottle 6 skies.
