Description

By mistake I took 30x5min exposures of RGB instead of SHO, which due light pollution led only to a poor SNR RGB image, of which even the luminance channel could not be used - but only the stars.

After correcting the filter settings to SHO I did gather another 4hours and got some very nice subs of Sii and Ha, even though the Oiii signal hardly contained any information due the nature of the target.

In processing with PI I adjusted histograms to same median with auto histogram and GraXpert, a supber new tool i tried out that miraculously got rid of the gradient, that had sneaked in (poor flats?) - mich better than results than the automatic or dynamic background extension from PI.
I then treated the SHO subs with BlurX-, NoiseX- and StarXTerminator to get clean noise- and starless channels.

I then went down 2 routes in processing
a. SHO combination of channels into a mostly reddish result (version a) which I then stretched with the magnificient GHS tool
b. GHS on the SHO subs aligning them on a similar background and peak values, which in return yielded a more colorful output

To both of them GHS stretched and color calibrated RGB stars were added for the final image.

I like both, as different as they are :-)
