Description

The Pleiades - I was imaging a nebula on the other side of the sky, and, as it was setting behind the trees, I noticed that the Pleiades had risen above the trees on the opposite side of my yard. I had a couple of hours the sun came up, so I decided to try my first RGB image with the new camera.

83x300s RGB taken over 3 nights in the last 2 weeks... took more but had to discard some due to clouds and the stupid sunrise. No separate luminance. Not as bright blue as most other images I see, but I don't think the colors are bad. It's pretty difficult to distinguish the faint stuff from the sky glow in my area, but I was happy to get the details in the brighter wispiness. That said, I may try to image this again from darker skies later this fall.

C - reprocessed with new flats, better background extraction to avoid some of the brighter perimeter in the original version; less NR, which allowed me to get a better stretch and pull more of the nebulosity out; stars are a bit better with the changes.
