I'm playing with my old images and I'm amazed by the result now I'm much more familiar with pixinsight compare to 1 year ago. I made a Halpha version of M1 last January with my brand new CCD: it was my first test shot and a start for a new learning curve: monochrome CCD. I made it home in the middle of Abu Dhabi, UAE surrounded by heavy light pollution. Actuallly I have totally forgotten these subframes until I found them while diging in my hard-drive :-). Then I realised that I did make a color version long time ago with my old DSLR: it was in January 2015 with the same telescope. Why not trying to combine the Ha image which looks pretty good with the color one? I decided to give it a try! I went back to the image registration in order align and resize/resample all subframes taking the CCD image as a reference. Then I could combine the Ha and the RGB to make a surprising good HaRGB combination ! :-) It is still noisy because I took the Ha from home in heavy LP (more subs would have been better).
