Description

NGC2244/Rosette Nebula Bi-color

Located roughly 5000 light years from the Earth just off Orion’s left shoulder, NGC2244 is an open cluster of incredibly hot O-type stars, located in the core of the Rosette Nebula. This bright collection of jewels, captured here with the surrounding dust lanes, show why the Rosette Nebula is one of the most beautiful objects in the winter sky. My favorite part is the dust cloud that looks like a panther leaping into the nebula’s center. 😊
