Description

My first little project with a new RASA 11" to get comfortable with the setup.

The data was acquired over 4 nights.

Narrowband data was taken with the RASA 11" and stars were taken with SLOAN i'r'g' filters on the TEC APO160FL as a 1x3 Mosaic composed to the RASA narrowband data.
The RGB data was mapped to SLOAN i'r'g' and spectrophotometric calibrated in PI.
This was a nice little sub-project to learn the workflow for mosaics

The main subject is Sharpless 157, also known as the Lobster Claw Nebula (SH 2-157) which is a bright emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia in the Perseus Arm.
It lies just south of the better-known Bubble Nebula SH 2-162 (NGC 7635).

Within this image are a few other interesting objects.
SH 2-158 the Northern Lagoon Nebula and its smaller companion SH 2-159 near the top and left center of the image.
On the lower left side we see M52, an open star cluster with about 600 stars.

All of these objects are part of the dusty Cas OB2 association.
According to Glaxymap.org "Brain and Bubble (120° - 110°)"

The hottest O-star known in the direction of Cas OB2, the O 6.5 III
giant BD+60 2522, is one of the most photographed O-stars in the Milky
Way because its powerful winds have created the dramatic Bubble nebula
(NGC 7635) which is just a part of the larger Sh 2-162 complex.

Hope you like it
