Some experimentation for this one. (well aren't all our images experimentations?) I captured luminance with my mono 2600MM and RGB with my OSC 2600MC. Why? well with lots of clouds in and out I figured I could get same data for RGB channels that way. I ended up integrating the mono luminance with the RGB luminance extract (using APP). Then with BXT, I used only 0.1 star sharpening and at the end used Bill Blanshan's star reduction V3 with 3 as mode. I am pleased with the stars. I had lots of moonlight gradients which GraXpert mostly took care of...along with an aggressive black point.

There have been so many great images of this these galaxies lately that I almost didn't post as I didn't think it lived up to my expectations. But thinking about it more, heck this is fantastic image from a B7 backyard. Think about it, NGC3718 is 52MLYs away. BXT did bring out good detail...even can see the arms on the galaxy PGC 35620 (part of the Hickson group 56 or ARP 322 at ~425MLYs, what a mess of a group. I wonder if there is enough time for advanced life to evolve in these chaotic collisions.). Fantastic what we are doing.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
