Description

This image is a 2 panel mosaic of Sh2-129 and one panel of Ou4. It shows the emission nebula Sh2-129 (also known as LBN 449, Ced 190) and  the outflow nebula Ou4.  The blue Ou4 is sometimes called "The Squid" and the red Sh2-129 is sometimes called "The Bat."  Ou4 is said to be embedded in Sh2-129 - evidence of this is the bright edge of the southern lobe of Ou4 beginning to impinge the denser Sh2-129. This image field also shows three LBN objects (the afore mentioned LBN 449, LBN 453, and 445) as well as some dark nebulae from TGU and Dobashi.   These objects and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image.
