Description

The Iris Nebula blooms in a field of star dust. This nebula, which lies in a very dusty region in Cepheus ~1300 light years away, is illuminated by a young central star named SAO 19158. This star provides the light that reflects against dust grains providing magnificent blue petals that are 6 light years across. This was my first capture with the ASI1600 and I’m very happy with the overall result.
