Description

* Image acquisition by Jim Misti.

* Processing: José Fernandes.

The Heart Nebula (IC 1805, Sh2-190, Mel-15) is about 7,500 light-years away from Earth, in the direction of the constellation of Cassiopeia.

It is an emission nebula consisting of bright gas and dark bands of dust, carved by stellar winds and radiation from young stars of great mass.

It is estimated that Melotte 15 is only 1.5 million years old.

At its center, we have the "Heart of the Heart", an impressive structure that quickly captures our attention.

This photographic record can be made in SOH or RGB. If we want to get an impressive image, we will have to resort to the first technique, which gives us better definition and 3D effects.
