Target: Multiple small NGC Galaxies in the constellation Pisces, centre-framed on NGC509 and containing NGC-489, 502, 505, 516, 518, 522, 524, 532, IC-101 & 1695. Coordinates at Right Ascension: 01h 24m 17.84s, Declination: +09° 32′04.5".

Data acquired on 31/12/2017 in Sia, Cyprus, Bortle Scale 5 and processed on 23/05/2018 in Ronkonkoma, NY, USA.

Equatorial Mount: Celestron Advanced VX + Skyportal WiFi + NexRemote 1.7.3.

Telescope: Skywatcher Esprit Triplet Apochromat ø80mm fl:400mm f/5 + dedicated Field Flattener with Sky's The Limit 2" UV/IR filter.

Camera: Qhy183C with AR/AR coatings.

Sensor resolution: 5544x3684 / 20 Megapixels (cropped to 5395x3535).

Image scale resolution: 1.24" per pixel. Field of View 1.85° x 1.21°.

Capture details: 350 x 30s exposures - 175minutes / 2 hours 55 minutes total integration. Gain: 36 / 67%. Offset: 36. Temperature: -20°C. Binning: 1x1. Colour space: RAW16. Calibration: Darks: 23. Flats: None. Bias: None.

Filter Wheel: QHYCFW2-S 6x1.25" set at Optolong L-PRO.

Guiding: Off.

Software: Planetarium control with Cartes du Ciel 4.1 through ASCOM 6.3. Data acquired and plate solved in SharpCap 3.1 and stacked in DSS 4.1.1. 16-bit file post-processed in Pixinsight 1.8 & Photoshop CC 2018.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
