Description

NGC 488 is a magnitude 10.4 spiral galaxy in the constellation of Pisces. It is oriented almost perfectly face-on from our point of view. It lies at a distance of about 98 million light years from us and has an apparent size of 5.4 x 3 arc minutes.

Optics: Celestron EdgeHD 1100 on Paramount MX

Camera: Sbig STL-11000 for RGB

Optics: Starizona Hyperion f/8 12.5 inch, FL 2540 mm on Paramount ME

Camera: Apogee U8300 for Lum

Exposure: LRGB L:42x10 min R:16x10 min, G:12x10 min, B:17x10 min Total 14.5 hrs

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing with Photoshop.
