Description

Someone asked me recently to take a picture of the Orion Trapezium Cluster for a project they were doing; attached is that result. Obviously there is a lot of extended nebulosity that was not captured, but that was by design due to the extreme contrast between the center region and its surrounding Nebula.

If you zoom in a little you can see Theta Ori E. Each exposure for all filters were 1.25 seconds each and was processed in PixInsight and PhotoShop. (AG 14.5” iDK was used in conjunction with a QSI 683wsg.) I can still gather more subs, but this is pretty much it unless I take longer ones and insert this core into what would then be a blown out core. (I may do that anyway just to get more extended nebulosity for a pretty picture.) In all there were 334 subs I used to put this image together. My hard drive is complaining!
