Description

Earlier this year, I was checking out some targets within NINA's framing tool and saw that with two horizontal panels I could fit the entirety of the California nebula. It seems that most often this object is either framed focused on the brighter part, such as the top half of this image, or if the full nebula is captured it's generally a much wider field of view at higher pixel scales. This project interested me because I thought the framing itself would be a bit unique, but also it would only be a simple 2 panel, as opposed to 3, 4, and above, meaning I wouldn't need to invest quite so many hours. Additionally, as with some other projects I've done, I wanted to give the target some love in broadband, and showcase the dusty structures that are present here. Ha data was captured as well, and used in emissionless processing technique where the broadband components can be pushed, but that data is not actually present within this image, so I will not notate it within the acquisition details. Shoutout to @Sketchpad for help on this processing technique.

Imaged over 7 nights from 10.10.23 to 11.12.23 from the backyard.
