Description

With a nod to the moon landings here is a picture taken with my Orion 10inch Dobsonian and web cam with x 3 Barlow so 3600 focal length back in Dec 2017. Given I had no focusing aids , no tracking and no real idea what I was doing I was quiet pleased with it at the time

Clavius is one of the largest crater formations on the Moon, and it is the second largest crater on the visible near side (very close in size to Deslandres). It is located in the rugged southern highlands of the Moon, to the south of the prominent ray crater Tycho. The crater is named for the Jesuit priest Christopher Clavius, a 16th-century German mathematician and astronomer.
