Description

This was a strange project. What started as a Mosaic using only the AG Optical FA12, ended up being a complicated combination of two scopes at two different focal lengths. Initially I set out to get SHO data on two panels for the Seagull, but my Oiii data was poor quality due to severe gradients, while the Ha data was excellent. I did not want to waste the Ag Optical Ha data, and decided to try to create an SHO image with the much smaller Askar FRA400. I used that image as an RGB source once I was happy with the colors, and using star alignment, combined it with the Ha AG Optical data, where I used the Ag Optical Ha data as the luminance layer to create this detailed mosaic. The image was processed in my favorite color palette, the Foraxx Palette utility in Pixinsight, and it gives the Seagull a beautiful dynamic narrowband image that resembles a rising Phoenix.

Thanks for looking and CS!
