Description

This is the first image in which I tried to blend H-Alpha.

Space is a dusty place. This is Caldwell 31 aka "The Flaming Star Nebula", 1500 light years away in the constellation Auriga. It's pretty dim in my photo compared to Hubble or professional images, because I tried to image it under a 100% full moon, for comparison purposes.

Scope: CDK Planewave 17", 2939 mm FL @ f/6.3

Location: Nerpio, Spain

Camera: SBIG STL1100M 11 MP CCD

4 x 300s each of Red, Green, Blue, and Luminance
