This is NGC7331 and Stephan's Quintet in the constellation of Pegasus.
The framing on this one pushes what my field of view can capture. I would have liked to have a bit more context around the top and bottom of the field. I could have used my wide field setup, but the objects of interest would have been quite small. It was a bit of a last minute decision to select these objects, just to see how it would work.
I am pretty happy with the detail in the image. This was taken over 3 nights, and with nearly the best seeing that my site delivers. I didn't expect to catch as much Integrated Flux Nebula as I did. I would have brought it out more, except that the color data gets a bit noisy when I stretch it that far. Without color, the monochrome luminance data can be pushed quite a bit more, and the IFN is quite dramatic in B&W. I may make a mono version just for that.
The data set is as follows:- Luminance: 82x600 seconds
- Red: 30x300 seconds
- Green: 27x300 seconds
- Blue: 24x300 seconds
The imaging system is as follows:- Telescope: Astro-Physics AP130GTX @ F/6.7
- Camera: QSI 690 wsg-8 with Astrodon Gen 2 LRGB filters
- Mount: Astro-Physics AP1600-AE
- Automation: NINA with Hocus Focus and the Astro-Physics Tools plug-ins
