Description

This the first DSO I've ever imaged. The Orion Nebula is arguably the astrophotography equivalent to programming's "Hello World".

I used the ZWO Seestar S50 smart telescope which greatly simplifies getting one's feet wet as a rank beginner. I am now hooked by astrophotography !!!

The image marked 'original' is a 3 minute stack of 10 second exposures - entirely done by the Seestar S50 and is not post-processed in any way off-telescope. It establishes a line in the sand as to what is achievable with these small telescopes.

I will use my Seestar S50 to learn the basics of astrophotography - perhaps going onto more capable gear (and much more expensive) - but I will certainly learn more about the night sky.

Thanks ZWO !!!
