Description

On October 20, 2021, the Moon decided to visit the highest observatory in Europe:
The Saint-Véran observatory.
In order for this to happen, we had to place ourselves in a specific position.
Indeed, you had to be halfway to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain to obtain this rare alignment.

Of course, the weather had to be right to take this photo.
I had to get up at 4:30 am this October 20, drive 45 minutes to start the 30 minute hike to get to this exact spot.

When the photo was taken, the Sun was not yet up while the Moon was already setting.

The light was lacking then; This is why the camera had to be set to ISO 6400.

EXIFS:

Canon filtered 6D + Sky Watcher 80ED (80/600) scope.

ISO: 6400.

Exposure time: 1/160 ° of a second.

F / 7.5.

Location: Pain de Sucre / Queyras / France.
