Description

M5 is a globular star cluster and lies about 24,500 light years away in our galaxy's halo (the spherical portion of the galaxy at the Milky Way's center).
Its diameter is 165 light years and it contains 100,000 to 500,000 stars.  M5 formed at about the same time as our galaxy, so it is extremely old (10.5-13 billion years)

Weather (early monsoon season in AZ) and equipment issues limited my ability to collect as much data as I would like.  I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out as well as it did - especially since I did not shoot flats.
