SpaceWeather news Feb 19: "BIG SUNSPOT ALERT: A big new sunspot (AR3590) is emerging from the farside of the sun. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory can see it rotating over the sun's northeastern limb. Right now the sunspot is crackling with minor C-class solar flares. We don't yet know if it is capable of anything stronger."

SpaceWeather update Feb 21: "X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected a strong X1.8-class solar flare (Feb. 21 @ 2307 UT). The source is giant sunspot AR3590."

SpaceWeather update Feb 22: "ANOTHER MAJOR SOLAR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected an X6.3-class solar flare from sunspot AR3590 (Feb. 22 @ 2234 UT). This is the strongest flare of Solar Cycle 25, and the third X-flare the sunspot has produced in a 24 hour period."
