My submissions all seem to be complaining of clouds these days. This might be the longest drought of clear nights I had in Texas for the last 24 months. You start digging into all the data that you have on your hard drive that you never bothered processing before.
This image is one of them. I took this data shortly after I got the AG Optical FA12 as a test shot. Not well optimized because I only aquired 40 minutes worth of Oiii data that should have been a lot more. I eventually plan on getting more data on this target later this year to improve my SNR, but alas I am digging for anything I have at this point. Overall I am still impressed with the fine details that I got on the tadpole at the center of the nebula and I am happier about it. This image was again done in Dynamic Narrowband imaging with FORAXX utility. However I did use a couple of new tools that I got familiar with. Both of these scripts come
Seti astro . One is the
Statistical stretch script . The other is the
Narrowband to RGB stars script . I like both and I think this script does a better job than FORAXX stars at mimicking RGB stars. I would still rather get RGB stars for my images, but these retrospective projects on test Data don't have it at this point so this will do.
Also I really like this zoom overview feature if you resample both versions to the same size.
