Description

The majestic Orion Nebula (M42/M43) blazes so brightly in the night sky that it is even visible to the naked eye and this is just 30 minutes of total integration!
At the core of the nebula lies the Trapezium cluster (seen here), named because of the four stars that are easily resolved.
Infrared images of the Trapezium are better able to penetrate the surrounding clouds of dust have revealed more stars.

Also in the frame is Running Man Nebula (top centre), designated Sh2-279.

This HDR (High Dynamic Range) image is a combination of 2 min (main nebula) and 5s (core of the nebula) sub-exposures.

15x120s and 20x5s (core)
