Il a été publié en 1915 sous le titre A Catalogue of Star Clusters show on Franklin-Adams Chart Plates . Les objets du catalogue sont désignés par "Melotte xxx" ou "Mel xxx", xxx étant le numéro dans le catalogue.

- Le catalogue contient 245 objets : 161 amas ouverts , 81 amas globulaires , 2 astérismes et 1 galaxie .
- Les objets sont répartis sur toute la sphère céleste.
- Mel 2 est l'objet Melotte le plus au nord, situé à une déclinaison de +85º dans la constellation de Céphée .
- Mel 129 est l'objet Melotte le plus au sud, situé à une déclinaison de -82º dans la constellation Apus .

In astronomy, the Melotte catalogue is a catalogue of 245 star clusters by British astronomer Philibert Jacques Melotte. It was published in 1915 as A Catalogue of Star Clusters shown on Franklin-Adams Chart Plates. Catalogue objects are denoted by Melotte xxx or Mel xxx, xxx is the number referenced in the catalogue.

- The catalogue contains 245 objects: 161 open clusters, 81 globular clusters, 2 asterisms, and 1 galaxy.
- Objects are spread out across the entire celestial sphere.
- Mel 2 is the northernmost Melotte object, located at a declination of +85º in the constellation Cepheus.
