Description

The Horsehead nebula (aka B33) is a dark nebula silhouetted against a brighter emission nebula (IC434).

It is a popular test of your telescope and viewing quality. It helps to have a clear, dark night. A scope with a big aperture. Or long exposures with a camera.

The bright star on the left side is Alnitak (one of the stars in Orion's belt). And the river delta-like nebula in the top left is the Flame Nebula (NGC2024).

Spent about 90 minutes with the scope on this area before clouds there low on the horizon forced me to move on.

Imaged through a Ha filter as there was a full moon. Will come back with darker skies and add some good ol RGB.
