Description

So this is a small milestone as it is my 100th Astrobin Image posting.  The sky's parted a bit last night and I was able to image NGC4565 with my Vixen last night.  The forecast showed possible scattered clouds moving in over the evening.  Looking at the mornings collection of subs, I shot 110 but was able to keep 85 of those.  The rest were lost to clouds.  Not bad and worth the effort.  This is an interesting galaxy with a close field of view showing a few other close by galaxies to make it interesting.  I've been adjusting my post and I am now using APP to do an initial screening of bad subs.  Its quality prescreen is very fast and easy to use and it can help discern noisy images that my geriatric eyeballs cannot see.  Using it as a first pass screen is quick and easy.  I then use the Blink module in PI to make a second pass as there are some faults that it does not catch which I can visually reject by doing a standard review of the subs.

All things being equal it was a good night for imaging..  The NYX/OTA combination had some upsets where the clouds did come in and Phd2 lost guide stars but I was able to acquire useful subs for the entire 9 hour imaging session and when there was a break in guiding, everything came back and the whole setup continued to produce great subs.  Hats off to the NINA crew as that application keeps getting better and better.
