Description

First of my Okie-Tex Star Party deep sky processed images!

While I was processing this, I removed the stars (using StarNet2 in PixInsight) like I normally do to tweak colors and adjust the background, but the result was **jaw dropping**! I decided just to process the starless version. Well, mostly starless -- the two "eyes" got mostly left in, and I decided to leave them there.

The Shark Nebula is a dark nebula located in the constellation Cepheus, just beside the Milky Way, in a very dusty region. Dark nebulae are made of grains of dust and light-absorbing molecular gas, and are often breeding grounds for new stars and planetary systems.

The Shark itself is the top one -- I think it looks more like a blue-eyed dragon!
