Description

To me this target is particularly fascinating because it shows two completely different structure/color in Ha and OIII -- The Flying Bat in Ha and The Squid in OIII. A little bit of the Flying Bat is also visible in OIII, which is right on top of the squid.

This celestial object is a great exemplar to show how colorful the night sky is -- a green/blue-ish squid floating on top of a red flying bat. I'll use this image to "fight back" next time someone says "astrophotography is just photoshopping!"; No, we just process what's already there but too faint to be perceived by our eyes.

Definitely the most challenging and exciting target I've imaged so far, which is hard to do with a portable setup (and many cloudy nights). Spent a month and half imaging it, totalling 17 hours of data, which apparently isn't enough to reveal details of the faint squid; but I'm happy with what I got.

60 x 600s OIII
42 x 600s Ha
