Description

NGC7000 North American Nebula, is an ionized-hydrogen region in the constellation of Cygnus (The Swan). The nebula is a cloud of interstellar ionized gas. Interstellar dust particles in part of this cloud absorb the light emitted by recombining atoms. The North American Nebula is approximately 1,700 light-years distant from the Sun, with a diameter of 100 light-years and a total mass equal to about 4,000 solar masses.
