Description

Located in Cassiopeia, NGC 7635 is a 7 light-year wide expanding cloud of hydrogen gas from the star, BD +60°2522.  This star is classified as a type O star implying it is exceptionally hot and bright, with surface temperatures between 10,000 and 200,000 million times the surface of the sun.  The energetic behavior associated with BD +60°2522 has resulted in layers of hydrogen gas being thrown off the surface of the star, expanding radially to form this characteristic bubble.

This target was shot in LRGB to try to highlight the highly active star field field surrounding the bubble.  Some (way too much) hydrogen alpha was shot to help add some contrast and depth into the surrounding dust columns.  We'll be shooting some Sii and Oiii data next year to present this target in a narrowband format.
