https://www.instagram.com/p/C06iF0EstJH/Known to adventurers in all meridians and epochs, the Pleiades are hot young s̶i̶n̶g̶l̶e̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶a̶ luminous stars.
Surrounded by glowing blue dust, the Seven Sisters have a reputation for being interstellar posers - considered Frankly A Little Too Much by the surrounding stars, one presumes that their more slapdash and conservative neighbours are simply jealous. I mean look at this situation. Outrageous.
I was mentally prepared but ill-dressed to meet the challenges of shooting M45 again this winter, so I went back and compared my previous images from Andalusia in 2022, which turned into accidentally reprocessing the original dataset.
Hard to believe it’s the same data! What a year of skills-building and software development can do, and an object lesson in never giving up on old data. Sometimes you’re sitting on a goldmine obscured by the mire of prior incompetence.
