      Description

M109 is a Barred Spiral Galaxy in UMa. It was discovered by Mechain in 1781 and eventually added to the Messier Catalog.
This Spring imaging season was plagued by bad weather and this was a first clear moonless night of 2023. Seeing wasn't that good but I managed to get a number of decent frames for this project. As it's known, gradients are pretty bad for M109 because of the close proximity to Phecda (γ UMa), I hope I worked them away to a sufficient degree.
