Description

It is always a pleasure to see a waxing or waning moon near its new phase. Something refreshing about the thin sliver of a cresent moon just after new moon.

This was taken Friday February 12, 2021 at 6:06pm. The moon is 2% illuminated and 32 hours past new. This is a single frame through a red Astrodon filter with a 0.08" exposure, using a 6" F/6.45 Apo Melior.

The star below the moon is 4 magnitude HIP112716 in Aquarius.
