Cygnus Dust - NGC 7000, Pelican, Wall

This is my first mosaic, a 2x2 primarily centered on the dust between the Cygnus Wall and Pelican nebula. It look me a few tries to get the settings right in AstroPixelProcessor; I've put what I used below.

First stacked each 4 panels separately and for each filter, so 12 separate stacks. Settings left at default except LNC set to 2nd degree with 3 iterations.

Next, stitched the 4 panels together (one set per filter), bringing them in as light frames. Used the following settings:

[Registration]

- Scale Stop = 10 (increase if needed based on overlap)

- Dynamic Distortion Correction = CHECKED

- Same Camera and Optics = UNCHECKED

- Registration Mode = Mosaic

[Normalization]

- Mode = advanced

[Integration]

- LNC = 2nd deg 3 iterations.

- Enable MBB = CHECKED

- MBB slider = % of panel overlap, 18% in this case.

1. Deconvolution on Ha only.

2. TGV Denoise & MMT (Jon Rista method) used for noise reduction.

3. Masked Stretch, then Histogram slightly.

4. Star Reduction on Sulfur II using Adam Block technique with Starnett++.

5. PixelMath SHO combine:

---- Red: 70% SII, 23% Ha, 7% OIII

---- Green: 20% SII, 60% Ha, 20% OIII

---- Blue: 8% SII, 8% Ha, 84% OIII

6. Star Reduction on clone of Ha, used for Lum, then applied to RGB.

7. Color adjustments, SCNR, masks with curves, etc...

1. Saturation adjustment, final color tweaking.

2. Spot cleanup of over-saturated stars.

3. Smart Sharpening with edges mask.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
