Description

Given that the moon was present last night on a sudden instinct I decided to image Omega Centauri, the most beautiful globular star cluster in the southern constellation of Centaurus. Captured from my dark sky site Shivanahalli on the outskirts of Bangalore. An amateur astronomer shall never consider his viewing complete without observing the numerous stars in this cluster which is 15800 Light years distant from us. It was discovered by Edmund Halley as early as 1677. This is by far my best astro photograph till date and I a proud that I am part of the community that understands and appreciates the beauty of the Cosmos. Taken with my trusty Orion 80ED, no FF/FR, ISO1600 x 120s, guided using homemade finder guider, Opticstar PL-131M, PHD, HEQ5-PRO mount controlled using EQMOD.
