Description

This is my very first imaging attempt with the Takahashi Epsilon 160ED.

The last time I used a fast telescope for imaging was 30 years ago, using a Schmidt camera which had a spherical focal plane and I had to cut round pieces from 6x6 film in a dark room in order to fit  it into the holder for the primary focus.

This experience was of course of no help, so I had to learn from scratch how to perfectly collimate the Epsilon. This took quite a while and so I produced a lot of test shots which I assumed I will never process because of bad collimation.

Now I decided to give it a try, and star shapes are weird - as expected. To my surprise the data yielded the known tidal stream, although I imaged from a very light polluted place with direct exposure to street lights.
